Manor Post Top Plate

Natural wood Post Top Plate made from select unfinished western red cedar or treated yellow pine in our woodshop.  Cedar can have small knots on bottom side.  These post top plates are made to fit on top of a 4"x 4" or 6"x 6" nominal fence or deck post.  Use a solid post top plate for a decorative finishing touch or a post top plate with a hole in middle as a base for a wooden finial, sold separately.

These post bases can be attached by either applying exterior caulk to the under-side of the post base, or by nailing the post base to the post with exterior grade finish nails.

As with any exterior product, it is recommended to apply a good quality finish to preserve the wood's natural beauty and protect the post top. For more stability and less warping, choose the cedar option.
