Sapele Hardwood Boards
Sapele hardwood is a beautiful, versatile wood known for its rich reddish-brown color and distinctive interlocking grain with color that deepens over time. Its appearance is often compared to genuine mahogany, making it an excellent alternative for projects that call for the warmth, depth, and elegance of mahogany. Depending on the board and finish, sapele may display attractive ribbon-like figuring, subtle color variation, and a natural luster that becomes even more pronounced when finished.
Its warm tones also make sapele an excellent accent wood when paired with lighter colors and materials. It creates a striking contrast alongside maple, ash, birch, white oak, painted surfaces, and other light-colored woods.
We offer unfinished sapele hardwood boards in two convenient options:
- S4S boards: Surfaced on all four sides with clean, ready-to-use edges and faces. These boards are ideal for DIY projects and applications where minimal preparation is desired.
- S2S1E boards: Surfaced on two faces with one straight, clean edge. These boards are a more economical choice for woodworkers who want additional flexibility for sizing, jointing, or further milling.
