Add a clean, finished look to 4x4 or 6x6 deck and fence posts with Chelsea Post Top Plates, handcrafted in our wood shop from select tight-knot Western Red Cedar or kiln-dried treated yellow pine (KDAT). Choose a solid top or a top with a center hole to accept a decorative post top.

Installation
- Attach with exterior-grade caulk applied to the underside or secure with exterior-grade finishing nails.
- If using the center-hole option, mount your post top through the opening.
Care and finish
- All tops will naturally check and may crack with sun and weather exposure. To minimize movement and extend service life, apply a quality exterior sealer or finish to ALL surfaces (top, bottom, sides and inside) before installation.
- Treated yellow pine is less dimensionally stable than cedar; sealing and regular maintenance are especially important for KDAT caps. For greater long-term stability, choose Western Red Cedar and seal well before installation.
