Natural Wood Post Top Plate — unfinished western red cedar or treated yellow pine
Enhance and protect your fence or deck posts with our handcrafted post top plates. Made in our woodshop from select, unfinished western red cedar or treated yellow pine.
Key features
- Species: 4" x 4" post top available in Western Red Cedar or KDAT treated pine; 6" x 6" post top available in Western Red Cedar only.
- Sizes & thickness: both sizes are 3/4" thick. 4" x 4" plate measures 3-5/8" x 3-5/8". 6" x 6" plate measures 5-3/4" x 5-3/4".
- Styles: solid top for a clean decorative finish, or top with a centered hole to accept a separate wooden finial (finials sold separately).
- Attachment: adhesive method using exterior-grade caulk applied to the underside, or mechanically with exterior-grade finish nails.
- Finish: unfinished—apply a quality exterior finish (stain, sealer, or paint) to preserve appearance and increase longevity.
- Recommendation: choose western red cedar for greater dimensional stability and reduced warping in exterior conditions.
Ideal for finishing posts on decks, fences, porches, and pergolas while adding a neat, durable decorative touch.
