Product Description
Red Label Cedar Siding Shake Shingles
Red Label Cedar Siding Shake Shingles are classified as Appearance Grade #2, commonly known as Red Label. These natural cedar shakes vary from approximately 3" to 8" wide and are 18" long, creating a rustic, natural appearance when installed on exterior or interior vertical surfaces.
At exposures up to 9", the visible portion of each shingle will be mostly clear, with occasional tight knots and no visible loose knots. Any loose knots are located at least 8" from the top of the shingle and will be covered when installed.
Red Label shingles contain very limited sapwood and flat grain. They measure approximately 3/8" to 7/16" thick at the butt end and taper to an average thickness of approximately 1/8".
These #2-grade cedar shingles are not recommended for roofing. They are well suited for siding, accent walls, gables, sheds, birdhouses, outdoor projects, interior applications, and other vertical surfaces where a rustic cedar appearance is desired.

Great Shingles and Customer Service!
I have purchased several Contractors Packs and Hobby Packs of these Red Label #2 Western Red Cedar Shingles, which I'm using to replace at least four of the lower courses of shingles above the deck line on the south side of a beach house. I have been very pleased with the quantity, variety of widths, and quality of the shingles in the packs. I originally assumed that #2 shingles would have quite a few knots and splits, but these shingles have very few, which is one reason that I am a repeat customer. I have also been impressed by the customer service that I have received, and shipping has been extremely prompt. What more can a customer ask?
