These Western Red Cedar shingles will vary from 3" to 8" in width and are 18" in length. These shingles are called "Red Label" and an appearance #2 grade. The 10" closest to butt will be clear or have an occasional tight knot, but no loose knots. Any loose knots are 8" from the top of shingle and will not be visible once covered during the installation process. Very limited sapwood and flat grain are allowed. This shingle is 3/8" to 7/16" thick on the butt end and tapers to an average 1/8" thickness. These red label #2 grade labels are not recommended for roofing, however they can be used for exterior or interior siding and other vertical surfaces.
- Shingle is sold in hobby and contractor packs.
- The hobby pack covers 5 to 6 square feet, with an 8" to 9" exposure of the shingle. Ideal pack size for birdhouses, small repairs, outdoor projects, and hobbies.
- The contractor pack covers 20 to 25 square feet with a 7" exposure of the shingle. Ideal for new construction, repairs and outdoor projects.
