These Western Red Cedar shingles are 18" in length and vary in width from 3" to 8" wide. Blue label shingles are a higher grade than Red label. Blue Label shingles are also 100% heartwood, 100% clear in the bottom 10" nearest butt and 100% edge grain. This shingle is 1/2" to 5/8" thick on the butt end and tapers to an average 1/8" thickness on top. The blue label shingles are thicker than red label shingles and are recommended for roofing, exterior or interior siding and walls. Recommend using a 5-1/2" exposure when installing as a roof and a 7-1/2" exposure when installing vertically on siding.
Shingles are sold in hobby packs, contractors bundle and Contractor Pallet Pack:
- Hobby pack: covers 5 to 6 square feet with an 8" to 9" exposure of the shingle. Ideal pack size for birdhouses, small repairs, outdoor projects, and hobbies.
- Contractors bundle: covers 20 to 25 square feet with a 7" exposure of the shingle. Ideal for repairs and outdoor projects.
