Blue Label Western Red Cedar Shake Shingles are 18 inches in length and vary in width from 3 to 8 inches. The Blue Label shingles represent a higher grade than the Red Label, offering superior quality suitable for both roofing and siding applications.

Blue Label shingles are made from 100% heartwood, with the bottom 10 inches near the butt being 100% clear, and feature 100% edge grain. They are approximately 1/2" to 5/8" thick at the butt end, tapering to an average thickness of about 1/8" toward the top. With a thicker profile than Red Label shingles, they are recommended for roofing, as well as exterior and interior siding and walls.

For proper installation, we recommend a 5-1/2" exposure when used as roofing shingles, and a 7-1/2" exposure when installed vertically on siding, ensuring optimal appearance and performance.

Shingles are sold in hobby packs, contractors bundle and Contractor Pallet Pack:

  1. Hobby pack: covers 5 to 6 square feet with an 8" to 9" exposure of the shingle. Ideal pack size for birdhouses, small repairs, outdoor projects, and hobbies.

  2. Contractors bundle: covers 20 to 25 square feet with a 7" exposure of the shingle.  Ideal for repairs and outdoor projects.

  3. Contractor Pallet pack: This includes 12 contractor bundles and covers 250 to 290 square feet with a 7" exposure of the shingle. This pack is ideal for larger projects and new construction. This bundle saves you on motor freight shipping to your location.
