Blue Label Western Red Cedar Shake Shingles are 18 inches in length and vary in width from 3 to 8 inches. The Blue Label shingles represent a higher grade than the Red Label, offering superior quality suitable for both roofing and siding applications.
Blue Label shingles are made from 100% heartwood, with the bottom 10 inches near the butt being 100% clear, and feature 100% edge grain. They are approximately 1/2" to 5/8" thick at the butt end, tapering to an average thickness of about 1/8" toward the top. With a thicker profile than Red Label shingles, they are recommended for roofing, as well as exterior and interior siding and walls.
For proper installation, we recommend a 5-1/2" exposure when used as roofing shingles, and a 7-1/2" exposure when installed vertically on siding, ensuring optimal appearance and performance.
