Knotty White Pine Timbers for Mantels & Heavy Shelving
Knotty White Pine Timbers are an economical choice for rustic mantels, heavy-duty shelving, and a variety of interior woodworking projects. Each timber is surfaced smooth on all four sides, while the natural knots, grain, checks, and developing cracks add character as the wood dries.
White pine is generally more affordable than Douglas fir or cedar, making it a practical option when appearance, size, and value are priorities. Because white pine is softer and less dimensionally stable than Douglas fir or cedar, some movement, checking, cracking, and minor warping should be expected—especially in larger timbers.

Green/Wet Timber
These timbers are sold green, meaning they arrive at our yard with a higher moisture content and will air-dry over time. Some drying may have already occurred before you receive the timber. As the wood continues to dry, it will likely develop checks, cracks, and other natural movement that enhance its rustic appearance.
Allow the timber to air-dry to approximately 15%–19% moisture content before sealing, staining, painting, or applying another coating. Drying time varies depending on the timber’s size, location, airflow, temperature, and humidity. For best results, store the timber in a dry, well-ventilated area and allow air circulation around it.
These timbers are best suited for interior applications where their natural movement can be accommodated. They are less stable than our Douglas fir and cedar options.

total bill was $140 for a 4 X 8 X 8' cut to 2 4X8X 4' shipped to west virginia $56 for the timber the rest is shipping. small shops are on their way out just like every other business in this country. i will buy again don't know how long i can pass on to the buyer the long and short of it yes good company to do business with
