Lap Siding Sample — 3–4" verification piece (unfinished) Purpose: Verify profile, exposure, and finish compatibility on-site before placing full-length orders. Each sample shows the full cross-section so you can confirm overlap, reveal, and how the profile behaves under your lighting and on your facade.
Available sample profiles and nominal sizes:
- 117 Pine Double Siding — classic double-bevel profile for a traditional look.
- Cedar Bevel Siding — 1x6, 1x8, 1x10 — tight-grained cedar that accepts finishes well; ideal for weather-exposed facades.
- Cedar Channel Rustic Siding — 1x8, 1x10 — textured face with deep channel for a rustic, shadowed appearance.
- German Shiplap — 1x6, 1x8 — flush face with defined shadow line and weather-resistant lap.
- Old Timey Bevel Siding — vintage-style bevel for period restoration projects.
- Pine Bevel Siding — 1x6, 1x8 — economical bevel siding for painted or stained exteriors.
Sample details:
- Length: Approximately 3–4" — long enough to display the full profile, reveal, and overlap detail.
- Condition: Unfinished — test your chosen primer, stain, or paint on the sample to confirm absorption, color, and sheen. Cedar and pine will show different stain behaviors; always test first.
- Uses: Match existing siding profiles for renovations, confirm exposure and shadow lines, check joint and overlap fit, and test finish adhesion and color on-site.
- Ordering guidance: Order samples for each profile and size you plan to use. For critical matches, request multiple samples from the same production run or order a longer verification piece.
Installation & finishing notes:
- Cedar: Naturally durable and stable — test finish to confirm UV/weathering characteristics; can be left natural, stained or primed and painted. Cedar will require exterior-grade primer/sealer for painted installations.
- Pine: Use exterior primer for consistent finish prior to top-coating with an exterior grade paint.
- Fastening & flashing: Verify fastener placement and overlap with your chosen exposure on a sample board prior to installation.
