Cypress Lumber - Smooth surfaced on both faces
This Cypress lumber is Kiln-dried, in a Select & Better grade that allows small knots averaging from a pin knot to under 1" in diameter. Boards surfaced on both faces and both edges. Cypress has a warm coloring with characteristic wood grain pattern.
Cypress is grown in the eastern US. Cypress is an ideal wood to be used exterior due to being resistant to rot, decay and insects. The oils in the heartwood allow it to be durable when exposed to exterior weather conditions. Often used for boat building, exterior and interior furniture, shutters, shingles, exterior siding, and fence posts to name a few.
Product Note: To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended to acclimate the wood in the intended environment before installation. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area, avoiding direct contact with concrete floors.
SHIPPING NOTE: Our longest length is 7'10" when shipping UPS or FedEx. 8'-foot orders can be shipped motor freight with additional fees. If you would like this product shipped motor freight, please leave a note at checkout and we will contact you regarding the specific fees for your order based on your location. Average motor freight shipping on 8' material starts around $400.

Warped
These arrived in perfect condition, that is until I unwrapped them. They twisted and warped within one day. Don't know if they will straighten out but I clamped them. So we will see if they become usable or not.

2x6x4 cypress boards
I asked before ordering that I wanted the best selection with out knot holes, splits and holes. There were all of the above Also, some of the boards were warped really bad. I had to order more wood, 2x4 cypress to add more support to get the twists out. I had to do a ton of sanding to smooth all the boards. I didn’t expect to have to do. All the boards were a bit different lengths. I had a time trimming small amounts of wood to get all boards the same length. However, this select cypress grade is not a clear grade and allows for small knots and slight imperfections. Cypress does tend to move more than Cedar. How it is stored and the moisture content where it is stored once you receive the shipment may impact this lumber and cause warping. For example, storing lumber on a concrete slab, like a garage floor, can sometimes cause warpage over a short time period. Please let us know if we can assist further with your lumber quest.
