Cedar Bevel Siding – Western Red Cedar
Cedar Bevel Siding, also known as clapboard siding, provides a classic rustic appearance that works well with both traditional and modern home designs. Made from untreated Western Red Cedar, it offers natural resistance to rot, decay, moisture, insects, and fungi.
The siding can be used for:
- Exterior walls
- Accent walls
- Ceiling treatments
- New construction
- Remodeling and restoration projects
Its tapered profile creates attractive shadow lines and allows you to achieve a variety of looks by choosing from three available widths.
Product Details
- Material: Untreated Western Red Cedar
- Thickness: Approximately 11/16" at the butt end
- Thickness: Approximately 3/16" at the tapered end
- Surface: Graded for the rough side, providing a more rustic appearance
- Grade: Select Grade with tight knots
- Packaging: Boards are sold in packs of 4
- Samples: Sample pieces are available for sizing; however, samples may not show the knots that will be present in the siding
The back side is skip-surfaced smooth but may contain imperfections. For the most consistent and attractive appearance, we recommend installing the siding with the rough side facing out.

Coverage note: Actual installed square-foot coverage will be less than the amounts listed because siding is installed with overlapping courses. Please also allow extra material for trimming, cuts, and waste.
Installation and Maintenance
Cedar Bevel Siding is straightforward to install. Although Western Red Cedar is naturally resistant to rot and decay, treating the siding with a wood preservative and applying an exterior sealer or primer before installation is recommended, especially in harsh climates.
To maintain the wood’s natural beauty:
- Clean periodically with mild detergent and a soft-bristle brush.
- Remove dirt, mildew, and debris as needed.
- Reapply exterior sealer or stain every few years.
- Follow the coating manufacturer’s instructions for preparation and maintenance.
Shipping Information
The longest length available for shipment by UPS or FedEx is 7'10".
Lengths from 8' through 12' can be shipped by motor freight for an additional fee. If you would like your order shipped by motor freight, please leave a note at checkout. We will contact you with the freight cost based on your location and order size.
