Eastern White Cedar Undercourse Shingles measure 16 inches in length and vary in width from 2-1/2" to 4". These shingles are classified as utility grade, featuring unlimited defects, flat grain, and some sapwood. Knots on these shingles may be loose or open, adding to their rustic appearance.
Designed for use as undercourse shingles on double-coursed sidewalls and as starter shingles for walls, they are approximately 3/8" thick at the butt end and taper to an average thickness of about 1/32". Each pack typically covers 10 to 12 square feet.
This product is ideal for small repairs, outdoor projects, hobbyist applications, or building birdhouses. However, it is not recommended for residential or commercial roofing.
