Soft Maple Hardwood Lumber Boards - Surfaced S4S (surfaced four sides) and kiln-dried. This board is more finished than our S2S1E boards and cut from our S2S material. Although surfaced, additional dressing and sanding of the boards may be needed to complete your project.
Grade allows for an occasional pin knot, small defect or wane on back side of board. Boards can also have a small end check (crack at end of board). We recommend purchasing board a little longer than project needs to accommodate clean up cut at job site.
Soft Maple, also known as Red Maple, is 25% softer than Hard Maple. It is grown in Canada and the USA. The color can be a light to dark reddish brown sometimes with a faint purplish hue or gray-green hue. Soft Maple is used for furniture, flooring and musical instruments. Soft Maple can be difficult to glue.
