Grading of White Ash Hardwood Plywood

 1/4" Thickness - B-4 Grade:

  •  Description: The B-4 grade signifies that one side of the plywood has an excellent finish, making it suitable for applications where aesthetics are important. The B-4 grade allows for minor imperfections, but overall, this side will present a smooth and appealing surface that can be easily stained or finished.
  • Front Side: Expect a visually appealing appearance with minimal defects. The front side will showcase the natural beauty of White Ash, highlighting its light color, beautiful grain patterns, and occasional knots that add character. Ideal for projects like drawer fronts, indoor paneling, and decorative elements, this side is ready for finishing right out of the package.
  • Back Side: The back side may show more imperfections, such as small knots, color variations, or rough patches. The surface might not be as smooth as the front, but it is still functional for less visible applications, such as being mounted against a wall or used in internal structures.

3/4" Thickness - B-2 Grade:

  • Description: The B-2 grade indicates that both sides of the plywood are of good quality and suitable for visible applications. This grade ensures that the plywood is strong and aesthetically pleasing, making it an excellent choice for furniture and cabinetry.
  • Front Side: The front side will exhibit a clean and attractive finish, showcasing the rich grain and light color typical of White Ash. This side will have a well-prepared surface with only minor blemishes allowed, making it perfect for projects where appearance matters, such as tabletops, cabinets, and shelving.
  • Back Side: The back side will also maintain a good finish, but it may feature surface variations such as small knots or other minor imperfections. This side is still suitable for visible applications, allowing you to use the plywood creatively without compromising aesthetics.
