Newport high pyramid wood post caps protect and finish your posts with the natural look of wood. These finely crafted post caps will protect your post and enhance your fence, porch or deck design for years to come. Choose from Cedar or treated for the material of the cap. We recommend Cedar for the wood's stability and recommend treated if you are looking for uniformity on wood coloring.
Due to Cedar wood being a natural product and having a large range of coloring, the wood could range from a brownish pink to a light cream. However, Cedar wood is more stable and less likely to twist and bow over time.
Install cap by applying exterior caulk to the under-side of the post cap before placing it on the post.
BEFORE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Whether you choose a treated or cedar cap, it is recommended to apply a sealer on ALL wood parts (top, bottom, inside and sides) of the cap BEFORE installation. Please note, treated yellow pine has a tendency to twist and bow more than Cedar.
Applying and maintaining a sealer on the caps will help minimize this movement over time and give you a much longer life of your cap.
