Thicknesses and Grades of our Mahogany Plywood:

1/4" Thickness - A-4 Grade is Good 1 Side Plywood
The 1/4" African Mahogany Plywood boasts a stellar A-4 grade.

  • A- grade Front Face is truly a work of art. The patch-free surface is sanded smooth, showcasing the rich color and fine grain of the wood, making it ideal for projects where appearance matters. The A side is perfect for staining to highlight the wood’s natural beauty. This A side will be the visible side of this plywood.
  • 4 Grade Back Face - Flip over and you'll find a back side with similar wood coloring that can have joints, small cracks, filled knots, and other minor defects. Back face reflects a robust, yet aesthetically pleasing construction quality of grade 4. The back side is not intended to be as visible on your project as the front side. This thickness is especially suited for cabinetry, lightweight applications, or decorative backing panels.

1/2" Thickness - B-2 Grade is Good 2 Side Plywood
Next in line is the 1/2" version, categorized as a Good 2 Side plywood with a B-2 grade.

  • B-grade Front Face - The front face offers a patch-free, sanded smooth surface, albeit with occasional pin knots or slight blemishes, adding character to your projects. Both sides are stain grade, making them ideal for versatile applications like shelving, workshop projects, or crafting unique decor items.
  • 2-grade Back Face - The back side, which may show a few more imperfections compared to the front, maintains the high standards of African Mahogany, ensuring durability while still being visually appealing.

3/4" Thickness - A-1 Grade is Good 2 Sides Plywood
Finally, the robust 3/4" thickness is where strength meets sophistication. This Good 2 Sides plywood is rated A-1 grade.

  • A-grade Front Face – The front face is smooth, sanded, and free from patches, making it the clear choice for high-end furniture and cabinetry.
  • 1-grade Back Face - The back side, graded at 1, offers a similarly clear finish, though it may have a slight imperfection—an acceptable hallmark of natural wood. Both sides are ready for staining, lending an air of elegance to any project you undertake.
