Discover the perfect blend of beauty and functionality with our 6-lite glass African Mahogany storm doors. This stunning six-panel design features durable 1/8" tempered glass, providing a striking view while maximizing natural light in your home.

They not only enhance your entryway but also provide essential protection for your main door against the elements. Enjoy the peace of mind that comes with weather protection, while maintaining an open and inviting atmosphere whenever your front door is ajar.

Upgrade your entryway with a door that combines aesthetic appeal and practical benefits!

Sizes available: Standard Mahogany is available in 36”x80” (3/0x6/8) size only. Deluxe Mahogany is available in 32"x80" (2/8x6/8), 36”x80” (3/0x6/8) and 36”x84” (3/0x7/0) sizes.

Summary comparison — Standard vs Deluxe mahogany storm doors:

  • Standard: 1-1/16" thick, narrower center and bottom rails, slightly slimmer stiles. Best for protected entries (under an overhang), typical residential use, and more affordable. Recommend priming and painting this door; do not stain it. Only available in 3/0x6/8.
  • Deluxe: 1-1/8" thick, wider center and bottom rails, more robust profile. Built for harsher exposure or doorways with limited overhangs. Provides greater overall durability.  This door can be stained or primed and painted; priming and painting is recommended for harsher climates. Along with the standard 3/0x6/8 size, this door is also available in 2/8x6/8 and 3/0x7/0.

Recommendation: Choose Standard for sheltered-entry doors that will be primed and painted or when on a budget. Choose Deluxe for stained doors, exposed entries, or when maximum durability is required.

Please note: The Mahogany hardwood coloring on these 6-lite doors, available in both Deluxe and Standard styles, can vary between lighter and darker shades per door. This listing is for the raw, unfinished door slab only—hardware is not included. Some preparation on both sides and all edges is required to finish and hang the door to your specifications.

Recommendations for Mahogany Doors:

Mahogany doors are known for their beautiful grain and durability. Here are some key points about maintaining and finishing the Mahogany doors:

  1. Light Sanding: Lightly hand-sand the mahogany 6‑lite storm door with fine-grit sandpaper (220–320 grit), always sanding with the grain for each area until smooth. Note that vertical stiles and horizontal rails have grain running in different directions, so sand each area with its own grain. Remove all dust with a tack cloth before applying primer, stain, or finish.
  2. Staining and Coating (Deluxe door only): Use an exterior-grade stain or clear coat to enhance the door's natural beauty and provide protection. This is crucial, especially in areas with less overhang.
  3. For More Protection, Prime and Paint: Use a high-quality exterior-grade primer and paint for added protection. Priming and painting is required for the Standard Mahogany Door and recommended for the Deluxe Mahogany Door in harsher climates or locations without an overhang.
  4. Trimming: Trim only from the bottom of the door, since the top is flush. You may need to shave a small amount off the side depending on your doorway width.
  5. Stain Restrictions: Avoid using very dark or black stains, as they can cause damage and void the warranty.
  6. Painting Requirements: If you choose to paint in a dark color, ensure you use an exterior-grade primer and topcoat. Interior products or combined primer and paint products will also void the warranty.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure the longevity and aesthetic appeal of your Mahogany door.

Installation Guidelines:

This installation guide provides important steps for ensuring the longevity and quality of your door. Here’s a summary:

  1. Acclimatization: Store the door flat in a dry and interior climate controlled area for a few days before installation, but do not place it directly on the ground. Use elevation to keep it off the floor.
  2. Storage Conditions: Keep the door in a dry area with low humidity to prevent damage.
  3. Sealing Edges: Seal or prime all edges of the door within 48 hours after fitting, including the top and bottom edges, to protect against moisture.
  4. Quality Products: Use a high-quality stain or exterior-grade primer and paint for finishing to ensure durability.

Following these steps will help maintain the door's appearance and functionality over time.
