This Cypress is Kiln-dried, in a Select & Better grade that allows small knots averaging from a pin knot to under 1" in diameter. Boards are smooth on both faces and both edges.
Cypress is grown in the eastern US. The oils in the heartwood allow it to be durable when exposed to exterior weather conditions. Often used for boat building, exterior and interior furniture, shutters, shingles, exterior siding, and fence posts to name a few.
PRODUCT NOTE: Cypress grain is curvy and tends to warp and twist in certain climates. Make sure the wood is acclimated in the room or area it is going to be used before unstrapping. It is best to store in a dry climate with air flow around it. Do not store directly on a concrete floor. For a more stable wood, we recommend Western Red Cedar.

Warped
These arrived in perfect condition, that is until I unwrapped them. They twisted and warped within one day. Don't know if they will straighten out but I clamped them. So we will see if they become usable or not.

2x6x4 cypress boards
I asked before ordering that I wanted the best selection with out knot holes, splits and holes. There were all of the above Also, some of the boards were warped really bad. I had to order more wood, 2x4 cypress to add more support to get the twists out. I had to do a ton of sanding to smooth all the boards. I didn’t expect to have to do. All the boards were a bit different lengths. I had a time trimming small amounts of wood to get all boards the same length. However, this select cypress grade is not a clear grade and allows for small knots and slight imperfections. Cypress does tend to move more than Cedar. How it is stored and the moisture content where it is stored once you receive the shipment may impact this lumber and cause warping.
