Lacewood is not a specific tree species, but can come from multiple trees that are typically native to Australia, Africa and South America. What characterizes it as Lacewood is more the pattern that can pop up in different tree species than a specific species itself.

Lace wood veneer
Not as much motion in the wood pattern as seen on picture. I know they are all different, but it seems like more of a man-made pattern look. I'm sure it will be fine when stained and installed.
