3-Foot Hardwood Dowels (Bulk)
Our 3-foot hardwood dowels are sold in bulk, perfect for a variety of woodworking projects. Available in six species: Cherry, Mahogany, Maple, Red Oak, Poplar/White Pine, and Walnut. Diameter options range from 1/4" to 1-1/4", with a standard length of 36".
All dowels are unfinished, ready for your custom finish.
Quantity per pack:
- 1/4" diameter — 15 dowels per pack
- 3/8" diameter — 12 dowels per pack
- 1/2" diameter — 8 dowels per pack
- 5/8" diameter — 6 dowels per pack
- 3/4" diameter — 4 dowels per pack
- 1" diameter — 3 dowels per pack
- 1-1/4" diameter — 2 dowels per pack
Please Note:
- Wider diameters can be special ordered—please contact us for options and lead times.
- For closet rods, we recommend a minimum diameter of 1-1/4" to 1-3/8" for added strength and stability.
- The 1-3/8" wooden drapery rod, also sold here, is better suited for heavier drapes and will offer superior stability.

Hard Wood Dowels
Just what the doctor ordered. Replaced soft pine dowels with oak so that hardware would hold and not pull out of the wood. I screw the two pieces together as a walking staff for when I'm on stilts, and they hold nicely.
